摘要: Ribosomal proteins (RPs), the essential components of ribosome, are a family RNA-binding proteins, which play prime roles in ribosome biogenesis and protein translation. Recent studies revealed that RPs have additional extra-ribosomal functions, independent biosynthesis, regulation diverse cellular processes. Here, we review recent advances our understanding how regulate apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, proliferation, neoplastic transformation, migration invasion, tumorigenesis through both MDM2/p53-dependent p53-independent mechanisms. We also discuss maintenance genome integrity via modulating DNA damage response repair. further mutations or deletions at somatic germline levels some human cancers as well patients Diamond-Blackfan anemia 5q- syndrome with high susceptibility to cancer development. Moreover, potential clinical application, based upon abnormal RPs, biomarker development for early diagnosis and/or prognosis certain cancers. Finally, pressing issues field future perspectives better eventually benefit health.
