摘要: BACKGROUND Although most cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is curable by a variety of treatment modalities, small subset tumors recur, metastasize, and result in death. risk factors for metastasis have been described, there are little data available on appropriate workup staging patients with high-risk SCC. OBJECTIVE We reviewed reported cases case series SCC which sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) was performed to determine whether further research warranted developing SLNB as tool METHODS The English medical literature reports Data from anogenital nonanogenital were collected analyzed separately. percentage positive (SLN) calculated. False negative nondetection rates tabulated. Rates local recurrence, nodal distant metastasis, disease-specific death reported. RESULTS A total 607 85 included the analysis. SLN could not be identified 3% 4% cases. 24% 21% patients. False-negative determined completion lymphadenectomy (8/213) 5% (1/20), respectively. Most false-negative results studies 2000 or earlier combination radioisotope blue dye used localization process. Complications rarely limited hematoma, seroma, lymphatic fistula, wound infection, dehiscence. CONCLUSIONS Owing lack controlled studies, it premature draw conclusions regarding utility data, however, suggest that accurately diagnoses subclinical few low morbidity. Controlled needed demonstrate early detection will lead improved disease-free overall survival
