摘要: The primate subgroup of lentiviruses is made up an expanding number related viruses that display a remarkably diverse range effects on their hosts. At present, 18 different have been described in naturally infected African primates, and more are likely to be identified (1). Five main groupings described: human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1)/simian (SIV)cpz, HIV-2/SIVsm, SIVagm, SlVsykes, SIVmandrill. Each these groups can further subdivided into subgroups, which named according the species they were (Table 1). Primate share similar genetic organization biological characteristics, such as use CD4 primary receptor for entry, tropism CD4+ T lymphocytes, ability induce chronic, persistent infection (2).
