Northeasterly Cold Surges and Near-Equatorial Disturbances over the Winter MONEX Area during December 1974. Part I: Synoptic Aspects

摘要: Abstract This is a pre-Winter Monsoon Experiment (Winter MONEX) pilot study to examine the possible interactions between northeasterly cold surges off Asia continent and convective disturbances in near equatorial region. Based on surface 850 mb wind temperature analyses, satellite data, synoptic weather charts of Hong Kong Royal Observatory, sequence events associated with two air near-equatorial over Winter MONEX area South China Sea its vicinity during December 1974 discussed.
