摘要: Male sex development is a complex process of events involving genetic, epigenetic, and hormonal factors with androgens playing major role. The formation testes in 46,XY individuals establishes the male gonadal sex. Hormones produced by testes, especially testosterone anti-Mullerian hormone, play essential roles differentiation; conversely, defects production action these hormones result disorders (DSD). In this chapter, controlling determination differentiation are reviewed. By discussing subjects androgen action, particularly those 17beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase-3 deficiency, 5alpha-reductase-2 insensitivity syndrome, differentiation, gender identity, cognitive function emphasized. issue interaction nature versus nurture addressed.
