摘要: 1. 1. The biochemical characteristics and biological activities of eight Cucurbitaceae plant proteins designated trichosanthin (isolated from tubers Trichosanthes kirilowii), β-trichosanthin cucumeroides), α- β-momorcharins seeds Momordica charantia), momorcochin cochinchinensis), luffaculin Luffa acutangula) luffin-a luffin-b cylindrica), were reviewed. 2. 2. isolation procedures for all are based on aqueous extraction, acetone fractionation ion exchange chromatography. Ammonium sulfate precipitation gel filtration steps which may be included to improve purification. 3. 3. basic in nature possess a molecular weight approx. 30,000. All except glycoproteins. content Asx Glx residues is high. N-terminal amino acid residue Asp. Their compositions sequences similar. 4. 4. Circular dichroism spectroscopic studies revealed that trichosanthin, similar secondary but different tertiary structures. 5. 5. Most the immunologically distinct. 6. 6. exhibit abortifacient, antitumor, ribosome inactivating immunomodulatory activities. Trichosanthin manifests anti-human immunodeficiency virus activity.
