Strontium doping promotes bioactivity of rhBMP-2 upon calcium phosphate cement via elevated recognition and expression of BMPR-IA.

摘要: Preserving and improving osteogenic activity of bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) upon implants remains one the key limitations in regeneration. With calcium phosphate cement (CPC) as model, we have developed a series strontium (Sr)-doped CPC (SCPC) to address this issue. The effects fixed Sr on bioactivity recombinant human BMP-2 (rhBMP-2) well underlying mechanism were investigated. results suggested that rhBMP-2-induced was significantly promoted SCPCs, especially with low amount (SrCO3 content <10wt%). Further studies demonstrated Sr-induced enhancement rhBMP-2 related an elevated recognition protein receptor-IA (BMPR-IA) increased expression BMPR-IA C2C12 model cells. As result, activations BMP-induced signaling pathways different cells incubated CPC/rhBMP-2 SCPCs/rhBMP-2. These findings explicitly decipher SCPCs promoting signify promising application SCPCs/rhBMP-2 matrix regeneration implants.
