摘要: In an interview with me, Liming, a woman from the province of Heilongjiang who was now selling fruit on street in Dalian Economic Zone, explained that economic zone has special status; because she had managed to move there live, even without having acquired permanent residency permit, is viewed as success by her friends back home. When I asked why, “Because live DEZ, [my status] considered higher, more successful. The DEZ better than Harbin [a city Heilongjiang]… This development zone, it really developed and just city. So coming here better, are opportunities for people here.”
