摘要: In 1966, du Boulay demonstrated the pulsatile nature of CSF flow in cerebral aqueduct by using air cineventriculography, which disturbs normal dynamics replacing part incompressible with air. To investigate this phenomenon noninvasively, 35 volunteers were studied high-resolution, cardiac-gated MR imaging. Specifically, we wished to document changes size and configuration spaces incidence magnitude signal loss (an indication motion) these as they related time cardiac cycle. Changes measurable third ventricle only (size increased during systole seven volunteers). Except for lateral ventricles, some intensity was seen all at least volunteers--findings consistent those Boulay. However, contrary Boulay's observations, asymmetric signal, flow, level foramen Monro 15 volunteers. Based on pattern void expansion systole, propose a theory synchronous aqueduct, unifies our findings cineventriculographic observations.
