Eosinophilic gastroenteritis with obstruction: Immunological studies of seven patients

摘要: We studied 7 patients with eosinophilic gastroenteritis presenting obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract. Five had required surgical treatment for relief obstructive symptoms or because diagnostic uncertainty. Immunological studies, including serum immunoglobulins, complement, lymphocyte quantitation, and response to nonspecific mitogens revealed no striking abnormalities. None was clinically allergic food sensitive, IgE normal in all. A review literature since 1970 suggests that form accounts about half reported cases. Allergy, especially hypersensitivity food, is not diagnosis.
