摘要: Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) remains a significant cause of mortality and long-term disability in late preterm term infants. Mild therapeutic hypothermia to rectal temperature 34±0.5°C initiated as soon possible within the first 6 h life decreases severe neurodevelopmental disabilities infants with moderate HIE who are ≥36 weeks’ gestational age. There minimal side effects, incidence survivors is not increased. Infants less likely benefit from treatment. Cooling may be achieved by either total body or selective head cooling. As cooling now considered standard care, age depressed at birth should assessed determine whether they meet criteria for currently no evidence that offers any <36
