摘要: Novel monodentate M(CO)/sub 5/(en) complexes, where M = Cr, Mo, W and en ethylenediamine, are formed on UV photolysis of 6/ solutions containing en. These compounds have been isolated characterized by infrared electronic absorption spectroscopy elemental analyses. The complexes undergo chelation via a first-order kinetic process to form 4/(en) CO products. Determined reaction rates as follows: 3.0 x 10/sup -4/ s/sup -1/ (for Cr at 323 K), 3.5 Mo 298 4.2 -5/ K). order > is consistent with that the reactivity calculated M-C force constants in solution.
