摘要: Although well documented, brain structural abnormalities in schizophrenia are non-specific, and morphometric parameters show significant overlap between patients healthy controls. Such inconsistencies neuroimaging findings could represent different levels of severity along a single pathogenic process or distinct clinical etiopathological psychoses within schizophrenic spectrum. The aim the present study was investigation subtypes schizophrenia. Forty were classified according to DSM-IV Leonhard's classifications. Psychopathology assessed by Positive Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) Symptom Rating (NSRS). Patients compared 20 volunteers on volumetric measures cerebral structures (hemisphere, hippocampus planum temporale) ventricular-brain ratio (VBR) obtained magnetic resonance imaging. showed rightward asymmetry hemispheres increased VBR. Rightward correlated with negative symptoms prevailed systematic forms Leonhard, suggesting pattern left hemisphere abnormality this subgroup psychoses. Increased VBR values normal distribution subgroups, indicating that ventricular enlargement is not restricted but certain degree all cases.
