Synthesis of a main-chain liquid crystalline azo-polymer via “click” chemistry

摘要: A main-chain liquid crystalline azo-polymer (BPHCHA) was prepared through the copper-catalyzed “click” reaction between alkyne group on 4,4′-bis((6-(propargyloxy)hexyl)oxy) biphenyl (BPH) and azide 4-(6-azidohexyloxy)carbonyl-4′-(6′-azidohexyloxy) azobenzene (AHCHA). The confirmed by FT-IR, 1H NMR, GPC studies. phase transition behavior of BPH, AHCHA, resulting BPHCHA investigated differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) polarized optical microscopy (POM). AHCHA exhibited mesomorphic behavior, while BPH is a compound. from 39 to 69 °C for upon heating observed under POM. Schlieren texture at 130 cooling 150 annealed 15 min. Moreover, DSC POM studies showed that monotropic behavior.
