摘要: 1. To determine the specificity of goldfish (Carassius auratus) olfactory system to reproductive pheromone 17α,20β-dihydroxy-4-pregnen-3-one (17α,20βP), and if related sex steroids might also function as pheromones, electro-olfactogram (EOG) responses were recorded from mature male goldfish. 2. Of 24 tested, 17α,20βP was most stimulatory. It had a detection threshold 10−12M at concentration 10−8M elicited an EOG response 3 times that by 10−5M L-serine 3. 17α,20β,21-triol-4-pregnen-3-one, metabolite 17α,20βP, only other highly stimulatory steroid. Its 10−11M. 4. In cross-adaptation experiments all 21-carbon inhibited during adaptation 17α,20βP: this are transduced single receptor/transduction mechanism. 5. To verify biological relevance recording whole animal responsiveness determined measuring blood gonadotropin. When placed into homogeneous steroid solutions endocrine strongly correlated with recording. However, when added aquaria containing fish, less specific indicating transient wisps trigger responses. 6. Although extreme sensitivity gives it potential serve cue, realization is probably dynamics exposure.
