Lithium and thyroid function in manic-depressive psychosis.

摘要: The authors report a possible long-termn side effect of lithium treatment in cases manic-depressive disease. They examined 19 patients who had been on long-term carbonate therapy and found that six goiters four others evidence thyroid pathology. Related studies findings are reported, mechanisms underlying the high incidence pathology discussed.
