摘要: Summary. A palaeomagnetic record of the geomagnetic secular variation during last 10000 years has been obtained from 10 cores sediment Loch Lomond, Scotland, Lake Windermere, North England, and Llyn Geirionydd, Wales. time-scale is provided by 30 radiocarbon age determinations pollen analyses on several cores. The main swings much fine detail both declination inclination records repeat well between lakes, overall more detailed than previous European records. The new shows that neither nor have periodic over past years, but become progressively shorter in duration time. Each swing characterized which enables use as a secondary method dating other sediments. The motion vector predominantly clockwise throughout time period spanned, confirms anticlockwise 1100 to 600 bp first discovered British archaeomagnetic investigations. agrees with Czechoslovakian records, not Japanese or American lake records. This suggests changes are controlled local growing decaying, drifting sources, rather wobbling dipole.
