摘要: The cyclic peptides portoamides produced by the cyanobacterium Phormidium sp. LEGE 05292 were previously isolated and their ability to condition microcommunities allelopathic effect was described. These interesting bioactive properties are, however, still underexplored as biotechnological applications may be vast. This study aims investigate antifouling potential of portoamides, given that a challenge in search for new environmentally friendly products is find non-toxic natural alternatives with prevent colonization different biofouling species, from bacteria macroinvertebrates. A multi-bioassay approach applied assess properties, marine ecotoxicity molecular mode action. Results showed high effectiveness prevention mussel larvae settlement (EC50 = 3.16 µM), also bioactivity towards growth biofilm disruption bacterial strains, while not showing toxicity both target non-target species. Antifouling targets include energy metabolism modifications (failure proton-transporting ATPases activity), structural alterations gills protein gene regulatory mechanisms. Overall, reveal broad-spectrum diverse including reversible larvae, incorporated an active ingredient coatings.
