摘要: Phase separation under directional quenching has been studied in a Cahn-Hilliard model. In distinct contrast to the disordered patterns which develop homogeneous quench, periodic stripe are generated behind quench front. Their wavelength is uniquely defined by velocity of interface wide range. Numerical simulations match perfectly analytical results obtained limit small and large velocities interface. Additional modulation may lead cellular patterns. The protocols analyzed expected be an effective tool technological applications design nanostructured materials.
