摘要: Abstract The Trivers–Willard model predicts that in polygynous species, given certain assumptions, mothers with extra resources should bias investment towards sons by adjusting sex ratio at birth and/or differential provisioning of and daughters. Evidence for facultative adjustment the from recent empirical studies on ungulates is equivocal best. However, maternal input reproductive costs suggest ungulate do discriminate against daughters during most polygynous, dimorphic species. Better data relationship between fitness returns producing or are needed to interpret patterns sex-biased investment.
