摘要: Background: Biofilm formation is a strategy of many bacterial species to adapt variety stresses and has become part infections, contaminations or beneficial interactions. We previously observed that B. cereus ATCC 14579 (CECT148), formed thick biomass cells firmly adhered abiotic surfaces. Results: In this study, we combined two strong techniques, RNAseq iTRAQ mass spectrometry, demonstrate the profound physiological changes permit Bacillus switch from floating sessile lifestyle, undergo further maturation biofilm, differentiate into offensive defensive populations. The rearrangement nucleotides, sugars, amino acids energy metabolism lead promoting reinforcement cell wall, activation ROS detoxification strategies secondary metabolite production, all oriented defend biofilm external aggressions. However, maintain fermentative metabolic status along with higher aggressiveness against hosts, evidenced by production toxins other virulent factors. Conclusions: show biofilm-associated seem direct individual global defense aggressions competitors. By contrary, are more aggressive hosts. maintenance distinct subpopulations an effective face changeable environmental conditions found in life cycle cereus.
