摘要: Biome interfaces are expected to exhibit chorological symmetry, i.e., decreasing trends in the number of species associated with each two neighbouring biomes as we progress from one into other. Our aim was test for such a pattern within forest steppe biome, which is transition zone itself between temperate deciduous forests and biome. Presence symmetry would provide indirect evidence prehuman presence zonal steppes Carpathian basin. We also whished an example this analysis drawing biogeographical conclusions based on quantitative occurrence data, information source hitherto neglected Central Europe.
