In an effort to reduce the rates firefighter fatality, injury, and workplace stress, there has been a call for research advance knowledge firefighting performance injury prevention. Physical psychological variables important health have identified, yet interrelated nature these overlooked. Given overlap between physical demands sport, given that integrated framework used in sport domain guide athlete practice, organizations could benefit from adopting sport-based, model training management. Guided by Meyer Athlete Performance Management Model (MAPM), purposes current study were to: (a) describe characteristics firefighters-in-training (i.e., cadets recruits), (b) explore relationships associated with performance. Firefighters-in-training employed Midwestern area fire department United States (N = 34) completed battery assessments at department’s Fire Safety Academy building. Results revealed significant correlations several firefighters-in-training. These results, along multidimensional data set was also established study, provide preliminary evidence use sport-based such as MAPM populations.
