Knee osteoarthritis image registration: data from the Osteoarthritis Initiative

摘要: Knee osteoarthritis is a very common disease, in early stages, changes joint structures are shown, some of the most symptoms are; formation osteophytes, cartilage degradation and space reduction, among others. Based on reduction measurement, Kellgren-Lawrence grading scale, extensive used tool to asses radiological OA knee x-ray images, based information obtained from these assessments, objective this work correlate score bilateral asymmetry between knees. Using public data Osteoarthritis initiative (OAI), set images with different Kellgren-Lawrencescores were determine relationship asymmetry, order measure knees, right was registered match left knee, then series similarity metrics, mutual information, correlation, mean squared error where computed deformation (mismatch) knees score. Radiological evaluated scored by OAI radiologist groups. The results study suggest an association image registration correlation higher advanced stages. This can be helpful develop computer aided tool.
