摘要: Stratospheric aerosols caused large errors in Umkehr ozone measurements at MLO following the eruption late March to early April 1982 of El Chichon volcano. Ozonesonde observations suggest that by 1983 these decreased ±10%. Mean monthly amounts selected pressure levels are presented for ozonesonde observations. Less than 2 milli-atm-cm SO2 has been measured since 17 May indicating interference not adversely affected total measurements. An apparent depletion volcano is shown unlikely be real, but result a minimum occurred quasibiennial oscillation 1983. data was reduction above maximum, probably due changes stratospheric circulation and transport accompany phenomenon. A long-term trend exhibits rate change 1970 -3% per decade. Whether this chlorofluorocarbons, or variations strength between equatorial polar regions, unknown.
