摘要: Karyomorphology ofCoriaria, the only genus of family which is controversial with respect to its affinities and number constituting species, investigated on basis ten species (including eight narrowly defined species) representing nearly all variation genus. Features common are: (1) interphase nucleus has a few small or large, condensed heterochromatic blocks; (2) chromosomes at metaphase are mostly (0.4–0.7 μm long by our methods); (3)x=20. Resemblances in chromosome morphology suggest that Coriariaceae may have Rutales/Sapindales. Differences among found whether somatic diploid (2n=40) tetraploid (2n=80); presence absence thick segments metaphase; when such present, (3) their (4) morphology. defines wellCoriaria myrtifolia, C. napalensis andC. japonica, further provides evidence for distinguishing least four withinC. ruscifolia sensu Skog.
