摘要: The gene complex encoding all determinants of the biosynthesis pathway capsule group B meningococci (cps) has been cloned in Escherichia coli. A 24-kilobase large chromosomal fragment is necessary for expression on E. coli surface. By transposon and deletion mutagenesis, two separate steps transport polysaccharide from cytoplasm to periplasm further cell surface became evident. Mutants were also isolated that accumulate soluble poly(sialic acid) cytoplasm. cps conferred strain GC6 sensitivity K1-specific phages; phage was enhanced distinct classes mutants. Southern blot experiments revealed homology some or other Neisseria meningitidis capsular types species, depending used as probe.
