摘要: Despite anecdotal reports of differences in clinical and demographic characteristics The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) relative to general population cancer cases, have not been systematically evaluated. Data from 11,160 cases with 33 types were ascertained TCGA data portal. Corresponding the Surveillance, Epidemiology, End Results (SEER) 18 North American Association Central Registries databases obtained. Differences compared using Student’s t, Chi-square, Fisher’s exact tests. mean survival months assessed restricted time analysis generalised linear model. 3.9 years (95% CI 1.7–6.2) younger on average than SEER a significantly age for 20/33 types. Although most had similar sex distribution, race stage at diagnosis distributions disproportional 13/18 25/26 types, respectively. Using 12 as an end point, observed longer 27 exist vs. cases. Our study highlights subgroups where increased sample collection is warranted increase applicability genomic research results all individuals.
