摘要: Objective: To determine the path of growth girls who later develop coronary heart disease. Design: Follow up study whose body size at birth, during infancy, and childhood to age 12 years was recorded. Setting: Helsinki, Finland. Participants: 4130 were born between 1934 1944, attended child welfare clinics in still resident Finland 1971. Main outcome measure: Hospital admission or death from Results: In comparison with boys same cohort developed disease 87 short rather than thin, had compensatory height became thereafter a rapid increase weight mass index. combined analysis hazard ratios for 1.17 (95% confidence interval (CI) 1.03 1.32, p  =  0.02) each 1 cm decrease length 1.52 CI 1.23 1.89, Conclusions: Though broadly similar, paths associated development differ boys. This may be because are less vulnerable undernutrition utero better able sustain postnatal an adverse environment.
