Organizational determinants of efficiency and effectiveness in mental health partial care programs.

摘要: The use of partial care as a treatment modality for mentally ill patients, particularly the chronically ill, has greatly increased. However, research into what constitutes "good" program been scant. This article reports on an evaluation study staff productivity, cost efficiency, and service effectiveness adult programs carried out in New Jersey fiscal year 1984/1985. Five performance indexes are developed based comparisons multiple measures resources, activities, client outcomes. These used to test various hypotheses regarding effect organizational variables efficiency effectiveness. four issues explored are: auspices, complexity, mix, control by state. were found explain about half variance performance. In addition, demonstrating midlevel with regard productivity observed be most effective, implying possible optimal level at which is maximized.
