Predictors of conversion from major depressive disorder to bipolar disorder.

摘要: The present study has two main aims: (1) To assess whether childhood trauma helps to differentiate Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) from Bipolar (BD) in a cross-sectional design; and (2) Describe the rate of conversion MDD BD, as well clinical demographic predictors BD prospective cohort design. We conducted phases, city Pelotas, RS, Brazil. In first phase, 565 subjects diagnosed with MDD, 127 according Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview were included. second only individuals reevaluated for potential BD. 3 years was 12.4%. Predictors included lower educational level, use illicit substances, younger age depressive episode, family history Childhood not significant risk factor our study. Our findings can contribute prevention identification establishment more targeted therapeutic interventions, improving prognosis these individuals.
