摘要: Author(s): Misek, Ryan; Allen, Glenn; LeComte, Valerie; Mazur, Nicholas | Abstract: Seeds from the mangrove plant Cerbera odollam, known as “suicide tree,” are responsible for a significant number of deaths worldwide but not well recognized in Western medicine. Cerberin is cardiac glycoside concentrated plant’s seeds, which causes disrupted electrical activity leading to fatal dysrhythmias. We present case intentional C. odollam seed ingestion. The patient experienced high-degree heart block and arrest despite supportive treatment digoxin immune fab administration. Clinicians should be aware potential morbidity mortality associated with poisoning prepared resuscitative interventions.
