摘要: Abstract Cities are confronted with different societal challenges calling for urban sustainability transformation (UST). Nature-based solutions (NbS) can provide actions such and strive maximizing environmental, social economic benefits. Edible cities, which encompass forms of food production (UFP) in the city, be seen as multifunctional NbS. However, concept edible cities has just recently arrived research its understanding potential NbS supporting UST is still fragmented. Therefore, study created an analytical framework, aims at identifying prioritizing 1) that contribute context 2) strategies implementing mainstreaming city acceleration. The explorative character encompasses interviews key actors from three German case studies: Andernach – a frontrunner Haar follower I, implemented after learning Munich II, where was not yet but range bottom-up activities exist to promote topic. Results show support terms social-spatial socio-ecological transformation, particular promoting cohesion human-nature connection. In mainstreaming, results suggest taken up by departments due multifunctionality. Furthermore, mix motivated initiatives top-down authorities paired courage room experimentation on crucial embedding. Apart that, network creation UFP well other important factor cities. Future shall test transferability framework analyzing their UST.
