摘要: Klebsiella pneumoniae is an important multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogen affecting humans and a major source for hospital infections associated with high morbidity mortality due to limited treatment options. We summarize the wide resistome of this pathogen, which encompasses plentiful chromosomal plasmid-encoded antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). Under selective pressure, K. continuously accumulates ARGs, by de novo mutations, via acquisition plasmids transferable genetic elements, leading extremely drug resistant (XDR) strains harboring 'super resistome'. In last two decades, numerous high-risk (HiR) MDR XDR sequence types have emerged showing superior ability cause multicontinent outbreaks, continuous global dissemination. The data highlight complex evolution pneumoniae, involving transfer spread epidemic in highly disseminating successful clones. With worldwide catastrophe urgent need identify main pathogens that pose threat on future infectious diseases, further studies are warranted determine traits plasmid pneumoniae. There genomic translational decipher specific targets HiR clones design targeted prevention treatment.
