摘要: The role of socioeconomic status (SES) in the prevalence and course intimate partner violence (IPV) has been established, but mechanisms this are less clear. An untested assumption that women greater resources better able to seek help. This study used a national sample 1,077 who had experienced IPV explore income education helpseeking from hotlines, shelters, police. authors found SES did not play large use least often service study. Women with more were likely shelters feel they should have them. There was an interaction between severity predicting police use, such only predicted calling among higher women. finding suggests possibility lower threshold for reporting lowest discuss need research using diverse women, fine tune services according our emerging understanding social context.
