摘要: The determination of intra-abdominal pressures (IAP) may be useful in many clinical situations. authors recently demonstrated the canine model a close correlation between actual IAP and bladder pressure measurements obtained from transurethral catheter. purpose this study was to clinically validate technique. studied 16 patients, compared three positions (supine, with compressions, semi-erect) utilizing both direct intraperitoneal monitoring Their results linear relationship two methods described, mean r value 0.95 supine semi-erect positions, 0.99 abdominal compressions (P less than 0.0001). conclude that offers safe, simple, highly accurate method for evaluating at bedside. Studies indication its use operating room intensive care settings appear warranted.
