摘要: The objective of the present study was to review published surveys on allelic frequencies S and Z in European populations evaluate validity reported data. More than a hundred studies topic, since 1965 until 2000, were retrieved by Medline, Index Medicus bibliographic references consultation. criteria for selection were: 1) sample size> or =250 individuals; 2) alpha-1-antitrypsin phenotype determination performed means crossed antigen-antibody isoelectric focusing polyacrylamide gels; 3) PI type without any previous screening procedure; 4) 95% confidence interval (CI) outcomes with calculated coefficient variation <42.3 <95.8 Z; 5) CI comprised within limits comparative hypothetical designed same size questioned highest/lowest accepted specific area, according figures isogen boundary maps. Seventy comply five established analysis. According data selected studies, geographical distribution gene Europe is proposed.
