摘要: Growers of fresh produce on the Central Coast California currently face conflicting demands regarding measures to protect food safety and those environmental quality. To explore extent pressures identify range possible impacts environment, we conducted a survey irrigated-row-crop growers during spring 2007. The results indicate that are experiencing clear conflict, some incurring economic hardships because their practices environment have resulted in rejection crops by buyers. In addition, being encouraged or actively removing conservation for water quality, most taking action discourage eliminate wildlife from adjacent croplands. These actions could affect large areas land and, as indicated growers, they likely increase over time.
