Methods based on cross-sectional data from self-administered questionnaires filled out by 85 191 male employees Swedish construction industry. In addition symptoms nine locations, questionnaire addresses factors. Logistic regression methods were used disorder prevalence relation scales these Results Compared working rarely stooping or twisted posture, odds ratio (OR) lower back respect often posture 3.05 [95% confidence interval (95% CI) 2.73-3.42]. OR values work hands above shoulders neck shoulder 2.93 CI 2.65-3.24) 3.66 3.32-4.04), respectively. Among factors, sleeping problems hurrying without reason associated all body highest being found problems, 2.44 2.15-2.78). Conclusions Work awkward postures has strong associations. contrast, some primarily those reflecting characteristics individual persons, strongly locations. Symptoms seem not be like support workmates supervisors control situation. All rates increase age.
