摘要: Categorization is a core psychological process that central to decision making. While substantial amount of research has been conducted examine individual categorization behavior, little known about how the outputs and group may differ. Four experiments demonstrate differs systematically from in structural dimension category breadth: categorizing same set items, groups tend create larger number smaller categories than individuals. This effect social context function both taskwork teamwork. In terms taskwork, groups’ greater available knowledge mediates differences breadth between individuals by increasing utilized (study 2). teamwork, task conflict moderates on 3). Moreover, experience individually or influences individuals’ subsequent judgments 4).
