(π−,12C) inelastic backward scattering

摘要: Measurements have been made of the inelastic differential cross-section in process (π−,12C) with incident energies ranging from 60 up to 90 MeV angular region (150 ÷ 180)°. The experimental apparatus was a magnetic spectrometer streamer chamber filled helium at atmospheric pressure used as particle’s visualizer. overall momentum resolution turns out be sufficient for clearly separating 4.43 level of12C, group levels around 10 and starting 15 MeV. For energy losses above MeV, we report cross-sections corresponding nuclear excitation, between 20 35 McV about, that can identified electric-dipole giant resonance. In lower tail this region, contribution is kinematically consistent backward scattering pions upon quasi-free α-clusters (in three-α-particle model of12C). Finally, distributions (π,N) high-energy-loss spectrum from12C(π, zπ′) scattering.
