摘要: Abstract The synthesis of in situ formed TiC–Al composites utilizing the reaction between molten aluminum and preforms consisting Ti, C Al powders was studied. Whisker-shaped Ti3AlC2 as an intermediate phase clearly observed composite fabricated by combustion-wave arresting technique. It first time to observe with whisker shape during sequences Ti–C–Al system. In addition, formation mechanism suggested this study.
