摘要: Ultrasonic vocalizations (USV) are an important part of multimodal communication in mice; however, nothing is known about the behavioural context USV production by individual mice wild. Using remote-sensing methods we recorded USVs from adult free-living Peromyscus californicus. Because male and female P. californicus share duties rearing offspring defending territories, predicted that would produce similar contexts with spectral temporal characteristics. We found produced USVs, most common motifs being one-, two- three-syllable vocalizations. males females did not differ significantly type or number, when alone they were another mouse, vocalization (3SV) motif, which has a relatively long first syllable, was more likely to be presence mouse than alone. The likelihood vocalizing characteristics producing mate nonmate. Males same contexts. Thus, as other behaviours associated parenting territorial defence californicus, have
