摘要: Little is known about the immunological and virological impact of diagnosis disclosure among HIV-positive children adolescents. The current cross-sectional study examined medication hiding as a mediator relationship between to friends three medical outcomes: CD4+ absolute count, percentage, viral load. Participants included 25 perinatally infected, adolescents ages 11-18 years from US. Diagnosis were self-reported by participants markers derived blood samples drawn during same clinic visit. Bootstrapping analyses revealed that at least one friend (versus no friends) was associated with less hiding, which higher counts percentages but not Further, subset who had disclosed (n = 19), those reported disclosing 11 or more versus 1-10 likely hide taking, counts. Findings suggest adolescents' corresponds ultimately yielding better immune functioning. Health care providers should be cognizant these potential benefits when offering support around decision-making.
