摘要: This paper investigates the relationship between hydroclimatic parameters (rainfall and flood index) catch, stock abundance recruitment of catfish, Chrysichthys nigrodigitatus (Bagridae) bonga, Ethmalosa fimbriata (Clupeidae) southeastern Nigeria's inshore waters. For C. nigrodigitatus, most peaks in mean biomass \((\Delta \% {\bar B})\) R(n)})\) curves occurred during 'wet' years, i.e., years for which percentage deviations rainfall \overline {{RF}} )\) index {{FI}} - 1)\) from their means remained above averages. Catch respectively showed good positive linear correlation with index. E. behaved differently; some \(\Delta B}\) R(n)}\) 'dry' years; there was no annual catch bonga either or The hypothesis, that relationships exist interannual variations hydroregime yearly fluctuations population structure coastal estuarine fishes, holds true but not fimbriata.
