Contrasting high-spin yrast bands in 172Os and 174Os and an unexpected low-frequency anomaly in 172Os

摘要: Abstract The yrast bands of the neutron deficient isotopes 172 Os and 174 have been identified to spins about 24. band in shows no bandcrossing anomalies, confirming shell effect observed other N = 98 nuclei. In contrast, a strong backbend at frequency 0.26 MeV is attributed s-band crossing. A weaker band-crossing also lower frequency, 0.24 MeV, Os. This unexpected anomaly may be due either deformation effect, or change structure.
