摘要: Abstract Barrier islands represent unusual and fragile ecosystems, influenced by multiple physical stressors populated organisms that are resource habitat specialists. Dung beetles (Coleoptera) provide essential ecosystem services through the removal of dung from environment. Their role in unique environment a barrier island dominated large non-native grazing species has not been widely investigated. Using linear transects pitfall traps baited with human dung, we examined diversity found three habitats (marsh, dunes, forest) Assateague Island, off coast Maryland Virginia, USA.
