Stress and burnout in forensic community mental health nurses: an investigation of its causes and effects.

摘要: The increasing development of forensic services has seen the numbers Forensic Community Mental Health Nurses (FCMHNs) mushroom. mental health nursing (CMHNs) been found to be a stressful occupation. FCMHNs have largely ignored in research into occupational stress. current study identified and surveyed all (n = 104) England Wales who were attached NHS Medium Secure Units using measures A response rate 76.9% was achieved. Findings from this showed that substantial portion (44.3%) experiencing high burnout relation emotional exhaustion. number (31.2%) reached or exceeded threshold for psychiatric caseness on one measure. Concerns included 'not having facilities community refer patients to' 'interruptions office'. Dealing with violent did not feature top 10 stressors, although dealing suicidal did. As group appear feel supported by their managers colleagues.
