摘要: By blending a rigid polymer, sodium alginate (SA), and flexible poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), SA/PVA blend membranes were prepared for the pervaporation separation of ethanol–water mixtures. The SA membrane showed serious decline in flux increase factor due to relaxation polymeric chains, whereas PVA kept consistent performance during pervaporation. Compared with nascent membrane, all could have an enhanced mobility by which operation be reduced. From mixtures along temperature range 50–80°C, effects operating content investigated on performance, as well extent relaxation. morphology was observed scanning electron microscopy. relaxational phenomena also elucidated through analysis experimental data measured repeating given range. 10 wt % crosslinked glutaraldehyde enhance stability water, result mixture discussed. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
