摘要: Abstract For nail driving, some aspects of the effect on penetration hammer mass, speed at impact, size and section shape driving direction in relation to wood grain are reported. A 6 in. long, 0·236 dia., round was strain gauged show how varies with time during an impact. An analysis, which reasonably accounts for experimental results, is developed predicting pulse nail, amount by its under strain. Maintaining same kinetic energy input each blow, it found that larger initial penetration, smaller further penetration. The depth material backing piece variation Euler buckling load a specific type dimensions given.
